Family, Smiles and Skis & Friends

We did it! A parent goal of mine was never to miss a ski season and get our kids on the snow ASAP and we did it! Let's back up a little... So my mom's trip ended on a better note than the Cody sickness it started with, we were able to go up to the city with Sienna, go to CuriOdyssey, walk outside in the beautiful CA sunshine where mom picked up lots of fun surprises including Christmas lights. Then there was a week solo where Greg took off Monday to hang with us. Then Grammie and Pops arrived. We went to CuriOdyssey again (that membership is gold,) hosted a crabfest with our friends the Goldfarbs, got Cody and Sienna use to their new combo Joovy stroller, went swimming and found a great local winery. In between all of this there was also lots of Cody wrestling with Pops and lots of food delivered courtesy of my mother's club "in a pinch" program. Literally, every other day, strangers dropped off complete, yummy, veggie meals. So brillant! Oh, and during this time I turned 35! Greg and I actually went out to Attic for an early yummy dinner then brought my Copenhagen Bakery cake home to celebrate with the whole family.  Greg got major points, (his score is already pretty high) because he worked with his Uncle Steve who created a glass window hanging that perfectly resembles a Georgia O'Keefe painting that has a Sienna colored background. Pretty amazing! The next day was Valentine's Day and Grammie and Pops left. We are so fortunate and thankful that my mom and Greg's rents came out to help and play with our family! For Valentine's Day Greg surprised me with renting a cabin for the next weekend in Arnold. I got him the old school shaving brush and Grammie got one for Cody too so they can shave together. And it didn't stop there: then the sister train arrived the next day. (Thank god for our guest room!- now open for future vistors!) Mandy and Paige came in town for the weekend. We had so much fun! Of course we ate Minglabah, but also went to the beach in Half Moon Bay (we went with Greg's rents too-the weather's been gorgeous.) Then just the girls went for pedis. Sienna chilled the whole time. Greg and Cody shot off a rocket they made with Josh and AbbY at a Rocket Club launching near San Jose. Then it happened: we were up at the awesome cabin in Arnold, with a hot tub (yes, I can go back in!) and the Goldfarbs graciously watched Sienna. We drove Cody up to the mountain, a little nervous, with all the gear and what to expect, but he LOVED it. First Cody went between our legs, but if the video works-you'll see, like his dad :), he wanted to just bee line down the hill himself. We both got a little skiing in too, but more of our workout came from running alongside Cody when skiing and letting him ski into our arms. Next lesson is next weekend and it's called: How to stop. Then next day we went sledding, Cody had fun, but said: "I want to ski this!" Yes, my little ski racer! Well, off to mommy and me yoga, then checking out a house. Sienna's been a great companion, smiling, strolling to Whole Foods almost daily, sleeping (knock on wood) pretty good at night and Cody continues to be a sweet big bro giving her a BIG HUG and kiss often. Life is good.
