Happy New Year! We're all very happy to be so healthy and happy in the new year. Fall was pretty rough at times. Although Halloween did happen (it was touch and go with Cody's cough,) it soon turned a string of sickness that lasted right through Thanksgiving. So not much to report for those couple of months except that we took Cody to Stanford, got him an inhaler, and laid low as Greg and I worked hard at work and school.
We did have a BLAST in Colorado with my family and friends for Thanksgiving. We got to meet sweet, little baby Keegan and really enjoyed a laid back, good food and family time. Everything was so easy and fun. It was super sunny as we played at local playgrounds with Poppa and then Brooke and Mavis and the following Wednesday is was freezing and snowing. Good times and good timing!Christmas Vacation was epic and we are very fortunate and lucky to have created so many memories over the two plus weeks we were happily off from work. Prior to our red eye, Sienna took her first steps on December 22 in the United Club at SFO. This little lady knows how to travel!
We celebrated Jon's birthday. Cody conducted the trains. We visited with Greg's cousins and also had a great day with Oma and Uncle Steve. We got to spend a day with the Goldfarbs who drove up from Jersey to visit us and then.....
Greg and I, Jon and Trish, and Adam and Christy went to Grand Cayman for four nights. Greg and I got our advanced scuba certification. We dove to 100 feet and saw eels, crabs, lobsters, stingrays, turtles, and fish galore. We did our first night dive too and saw two octopus transform into each piece of corral they moved over. We good see with our flashlights and hear all the different lifeforms eating, it was a lively place! Jon and Trish got certified and Adam and Christy snorkeled and fed sting rays at Stingray City! We rang in the New Year at Tiki Bar (which when we got home we saw on House Hunters International!) It was an awesome time. Greg kept us safe on the left side of the road in our sweet van too!
Luckily we flew back into Philly the day before a HUGE storm. Obviously, it was great to be back with the kids, though they had a blast with Grammie and Pops going into Philly for a concer, to an indoor play gym, and building a giant Peanuts House in the living room. Now it was really time to celebrate because we were back together and it was getting close to Sienna's birthday. We threw an early party in Pottstown and Cody helped make and decorate cupcakes.
Then on her birthday, with just one little tooth, she enjoyed veggie lasagna and a vanilla cake with chocolate moose filling with her bestie Lucy and her parents, plus our neighbor friends Austin and Elise and their parents too. Greg and I found an awesome kitchen complete with food and utensils for one present and got a sweet sheep rocker just like her lovey. Sienna is an awesome girl. She's now walked a couple more steps. (One of her fav Christmas presents has been a musical walker which we think helped her cause.) We can tell she understands so much of what we say. She uses some signs and words (mostly dada and maaaaaaa) to communicate. Cody and her have started playing with one another. Both were "working" in their kitchen this morning. In November, she got her first haircut at Lil' Couture. She LOVES eating anything with her fingers and can use utensil already stocked with food to feed herself. She LOVES climbing anything, bath time and getting her hair combed afterward. The girl loves everything, including two naps a day. Both of them are napping after a pj party of their friend. Cody rode his bike to his friend's house and I ran alongside. So we resolve to keep doing what we're doing: having fun together near and far with family and friends. We are very thankful to having so many loving, friendly, fun people in our lives.
