Daycare Crud = More Family Time

Yay, today's President's Day and I just finished my grading and Cody's still napping! We had a fun morning. I had a trainer appointment at our new gym, Cody enjoyed their daycare (well after crying for 1 minute when I dropped him off-painful) then we went to the park and had lunch with dada. Shocker, Cody's getting over a cough. One friend referred to his cough as a result of daycare crud. It's tough, he loves daycare, we love our jobs, but we all hate to see him sick and in daycare you get the crud..often in the winter. Like my mom said, he's building up immunity so when he starts school he will be super healthy and win the attendance award. I stayed home with him Thursday, we actually had a great day playing in different parks, coughing, and enjoying the sun. His spirits were high all day. Then Saturday we took the train (he's obsessed) to San Carlos had breakfast then played in a beautiful park..Let's talk about last weekend!!!
So last weekend on Saturday we went to the gym all together and swam. Love it there! Then, Cody donning his Puma warm ups (that's what he wears post gym) went over to the Goldfarbs. We hung for a little bit then left him for his first overnight!!! He did great and they were great watching him; he had mashed potatoes and a new kitty toy and got to play with their cats and dog. He even slept in until 7!!!!!! Greg and I got a swanky hotel room at the W (ahhhh) we checked in and I got to shower using all Bliss products (love them!) then had a drink downstairs. It's such a scene at these W hotels. I was wearing my new Nordstrom's outfit, should have taken pictures but oh well, then we used our gift certificate from Barb and John at Foreign Cinema, a super cool restaurant. Greg totally surprised me with diamond earrings. Wow! Then we went to Slims, a small music venue and like old times, I got to the front of the stage and we danced. My Cinderella story ends with one more drink at the W, then ordering room service (grilled cheese and fries) and falling asleep before they arrived at the late hour of 1230. The next morning with our room views of the Bay and downtown SF we ordered room service and then picked up our happy little guy and we all napped. Brillant weekend!!! Then it kept coming, Monday, my real birthday we ordered Minglabah then Tuesday Valentine's Day we exchanged presents again. Greg got me a bracelet and I got him REI ski pants (which later turned into Arcteryx jacket and shirt. Cody got finger paints (he first art work is on our fridge, very modern), Thomas trains, and a yellow and black CAT truck that he loves.. It was a great start to the week and even though Cody had a tough end, we still all got to spend lots of fun time together. We're hoping for snow as Utah is in two weeks. Speaking of two weeks, Cody's recently been doing so many new things. This past weekend he climbed up and went down the slide all on his own, I didn't have to be on the playground equipement, scary; he repeats lots of words back to us like red, ball, plane, cheese, beep and brushes his teeth. He's a great "littlest minster."
